Summary:A simple two-parameter model of interference with independent linear, additive effects is used to describe the interferences in the AAS determination of Cd, Co, Cu, Li, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn in geochemical samples. The model proposed should enable the analyst to identify cases where interferences might have a noticeable effect on data interpretation. The model also enables appropriate corrections to be made.
