Summary:The petrography and microfauna of an upper biosparite limestone and lower dolomite of N England, both of Carboniferous age, are described. The dolomite contains a thin calcite vein with chalcopyrite, malachite and galena. The vein is not thought to be related to the dolomitization. [P.W.S.]
