Summary:Muscovite compositions have been used to study the relation between folding and metamorphism of the Pelona schist. The muscovites exhibit a regular increase of paragonite content and decrease of celadonite content with approach to the Vincent thrust. The striking correlation between composition and distance from the thrust suggests that the metamorphic zonation may be related to the thrusting event. [M.S.]
