Summary:Towards the top of the Main Central sheet, leucogranites intrude metamorphic rocks related to rocks of the Main Central thrust in the Himalayas. This study shows that the leucogranites suffered a NW shear deformation, the significance of which is discussed in terms of gravity-driven decollement of the thick Tethyan sedimentary pile over its crystalline basement.
