Summary:The mineralogy, chemistry and structural state of 31 perthites and four plagioclase samples from aplitic and pegmatitic dykes, veins and geodes in the Predazzo granite are described, using chemical (AAS, XRF and microprobe), optical and X-ray analyses. The feldspars occurring in dykes crossing the albite granite and the uneven-grained biotite granite (zone a) show bulk compositions (Or 65%), structural state (higher obliquity) and trace geochemistry (especially Rb contents and K/Rb ratios) consistent with a marked differentiation. The feldspars collected in the south area (b and c zones) are less differentiated and are more affected by complex metasomatic activities, marked by lowering of Rb, by anomalous correlations among some major and trace elements, and by wider scattering in the bulk compositions and structural states. In addition, good correlations between the colour (darker) of the feldspars, their obliquity (higher) and chemical compositions (mobilization of K, Na, Rb and perhaps Ba) seem to be indicative of higher metasomatic activity.
