Summary:The 'proterobases' or 'minverites' of N Cornwall are kaersutite-bearing alkali dolerites that have subsequently been metamorphosed in the prehnite-pumpellyite facies. Electron microprobe analyses are given of the primary minerals (clinopyroxene, kaersutite, Ti-biotite) and secondary minerals (pumpellyite, prehnite, chlorite, muscovite and plagioclase). [A.H.]
