Summary:The Catalogue contains individual entries for each locality and for each expedition season in Antarctica. Further, all the achondrites, enstatite and carbonaceous chondrites, stony-irons and irons recovered have been included. For some expeditions and localities it has proved necessary to restrict the number of ordinary chondrite entries, for example the 1977-78 season in the Allan Hills area during which 300 specimens were recovered and the 1979-80 season in the Yamato area in which over 3,300 specimens were found. The ordinary chondrites recovered by these two expeditions are included here only if the individual mass found is greater than 500g. This weight was chosen in these cases to give the widest coverage of material that is likely to be available for research in reasonable amounts. In other areas with smaller collections the weight limit is much lower; for example for the 1979-80 expedition in the Reckling Peak locality, which recovered 15 specimens, all masses over 70g are included.
