Summary:An undulatory contact between an overlying pyroxene-rich layer and an underlying pyroxene-poor layer in unit 9 allivalite is thought to result from gravitational instability of two mushes. Minor layers, laminae and igneous lamination in these layers in places cut across the undulatory contact and are therefore inferred to post-date the deformation and to have formed within a porous crystal-liquid mush.
