Summary:The deposit consists of sphalerite-baryte-galena-pyrite mineralization hosted predominantly by Courceyan micrites. Mineralogical and textural studies show several different stages of mineralization. Comparison with the structural and stratigraphic setting of orebodies such as Silvermines and Navan suggest that termination zones of synsedimentary transcurrent faults were preferential sites for mineralization during the Carboniferous.
