Summary:Many individual muscovites from a granite quarry at Stepaside, Co. Dublin, display >100 discrete zones ranging from 0.01 to 0.2 mm in thickness. Some zones contain inclusions of quartz or zircon, which would seem to suggest a magmatic environment rather than hydrothermal evolution. [R.A.H.]
