Summary:This area in N Norway consists of a series of nappes emplaced on to Baltica during the mid- to end Silurian, Scandian phase of the Caledonian orogeny. In the pelitic assemblages the peak conditions reached were of kyanite grade (mid- to upper-amphibolite facies). Final re-equilibration T varied from 430-490 degrees C, 6 bar, to 480-580 degrees C, 9 kbar and 610-680 degrees C, 6.2-7.3 kbar. [R.A.H.]
