Summary:The solubility of CO2-CO fluids in a MORB from Juan de Fuca Ridge have been measured at 1200 degrees C, 500-1500 bar, and function signO2 between NNO and NNO-4. The results fit the equation XmeltCO2 (ppm) = 0.492 function signO2 (bar). Thus equilibrium carbonate concentrations in MORB may be used as a direct measurement function sign fluidCO2 for any possible CO2-CO-H2O fluid composition. [R.A.H.]
