Summary:Combined fluid inclusion and H and O isotope studies indicate that hot to warm (140-55 degrees C) brines (17-22 eq. wt.% NaCl) with delta18O approx 10-14 per mille and deltaD approx - 56 to - 75 per mille were involved during two of the three principal ore-deposition stages (types 1 and 3). The third type of mineralization, which is stratiform, is inferred to be related to sea floor hot brine spring activity and synsedimentary and/or early diagenesis. All the hot brines are considered to come from the sedimentary basin. The diapir focused fluid circulation and may have been a source of S for certain mineralizations. [R.E.S.]
