Summary:Comparison between, on the one hand, the type and timing of emplacement of mafic-ultramafic complexes associated with calc- alkaline magmatism, dated by single zircon lead evaporation at 278 m.y., and, on the other, the late Carboniferous-Permian andesitic volcanism, suggests a genetic and spatial link between the late Variscan, calc-alkaline plutonic and volcanic activity, emplaced in a thinned crust within the Corsica-Sardinia batholith.
