Summary:The mineralogical and chemical changes accompanying the vein and wall rock hydrothermal alteration of granitic rocks have been documented. They appear to be host-rock dependent and yield geothermometric data and dating assessments. In Corsica, the dominant propylitic alteration would be Alpine, because it follows Alpine directions as well as those of earlier Hercynian phases. [M.L.]
