Summary:Seven major kaolinite deposits have been identified and AAS, XRD and XRF results are reported for three of them. At Virtasalmi in S Finland, deposits 50-60 m thick occur under 20-35 m of glacial till. The <20 mu m fraction contains 95% kaolinite; the iron content is low. [R.A.H.]
