Summary:Mineralogical, geochemical and petrographic studies are reported on epidote and amphiboles formed from a metasomatized dioritic rock. DTA, TG and XRD data and chemical analyses of the minerals are presented and it appears that the epidote probably had a pneumatolytic origin with high Ca, Fe3+ and Sr content in the fluid. Reactions removed Na, Mg, Rb, Ba and possibly SiO2 from the diorite. [R.E.S.]
