Summary:The treatment of suevite samples from Black Onaping, Sudbury, reveals the presence of diamonds. Morphology, optical properties, X-ray analysis data, ESR spectra show the structured and polycrystalline state of the cubic carbon phase and prove the impact origin of the diamonds. Three forms of carbonaceous matter, including shocked monocrystalline graphite, were found together with diamonds; thus, they were probably originated due to transformation of graphite in the target rocks. The first find of impact diamonds in Sudbury structure confirms once more the extraterrestrial origin of this object.
