Summary:XRD and FTIR analyses of fluorapatites from the Sokli and Siilinjärvi carbonatites are presented and comparisons are made with those from Kola and Kovdor. For the Finnish apatites, the occurrence of F-OH and F-OH-F bonds and the incorporation of CO2-3 ions into the A and B positions in the crystal structure have been established. Partial chemical analyses, cell parameters and IR spectra are presented. [R.A.H.]
