Summary:The Genböle and Norrlammala calcite marbles host economically interesting calcite resources; they and four other marbles in SW Finland have a good potential for providing calcite for paper coating. The Peräneva gabbroic intrusion in W central Finland contains disseminated and massive ilmenite layers (average grade ∼ 10 wt.%); the low magnetite content and high Ti/Fe ratio (TiO2/Fe2O3, total Fe) are typical features.
