Summary:The crystal structure of bazzite from miarolitic cavities in the Baveno granite (type locality), Piemonte, Italy, and from a pegmatitic occurrence at Tφrdal, Norway, has been refined. Compared to material from Alpine fissures, these specimens contain larger amounts of Rb, Cs and K in the channels and minor amounts of Mg in the dioctahedral positions. In the channels, the Na+ ions lie at the centre of the Si6O18 rings, i.e. in the Wyckoff position b, whereas H2O and the heavier alkali ions occupy the a position. The possibility of partial substitution of Si by Be has not been confirmed. [R.A.H.]
