Summary:These ultramafic alkaline dykes intrude the border zone between the Archaean craton and the Palaeoproterozoic Nagssugtoqidian orogen. A report is given on two kimberlite dykes which contain abundant mantle xenoliths. At least 90% of the xenoliths have peridotitic or pyroxenitic compositions, some containing visible purple pyrope and green Cr-diopside, minerals that may indicate P-T conditions within the diamond stability field. EPMA results for Ni in the garnets in two garnet lherzolite xenoliths in combination with estimates from single clinopyroxene thermobarometry indicate P-T conditions of 48.9-57.8 ± 2.3 kbar and 1101 ± 18 to 1221 ± 30uC.
