Summary:The paper deals with mineral interrelations in copper-bearing prehnite-pumpellyite paragenesis of the Zhyrychi Cu deposit. Some basic regularities in crystallization of these minerals and a succession of their replacement: pumpellyite-prehnite-wairakite (laumontite) are established. The paragenesis was destroyed during analcimization and smectitization which occurred at lower temperature. Chemical composition of prehnite and pumpellyite has been studied. It is shown that Fe replaces Al in prehnite. Isotopic investigations of oxygen in prehnite and analcime show that these minerals were crystallized of magmatogenic fluids (δ18OH2O = 8.0-9.4 and 5.5 per mil respectively). The isotopic ratio of oxygen in pumpellyite has been also determined. The freezing and melting temperatures of fluid inclusions in prehnite prove that prehnite and syngenetic native copper were crystallized in low-saline fluids (∼3.3% NaCleq.). [J.G.M.]
