Summary:Proterozoic (2.0 Ga) potassium rocks of pyroxenite-shonkinite-syenite series have been found in the Upper Bug area (the Ukrainian Shield). Their melanocratic types are undersaturated with SiO2, and some of them are leucite normative. These rocks are enriched in P, Ba, Ce, La and depleted by Ti, Nb. These rocks are considered abyssal analogues of potassium volcanites (leucetites, shoshonites, latites, trachytes), which are typical of the earth's crust areas being undergone to geodynamic compression condition (subduction, collision).
