Summary:Tetragonal calcium oxalate dihydrate dendrites show intricately branched structures with each order of branching having a different optic orientation. This feature is quite different from single crystalline nature of ordinary dendrites. The branches appeared to result from twinning, suggesting that this may be an entirely new mechanism for dendrite formation. [I.S.]
